Anita Hill, women’s rights expert and acclaimed author, will speak at the Fairfield County Community Foundation’s Women and Girls Fund luncheon

NORWALK, Conn., March 03, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Women’s rights scholar and renowned author Anita Hill will be this year’s keynote speaker for the Fairfield County Community Foundation (FCCF) annual celebration of its Women and Girls Fund.

Returning to the traditional format of the in-person benefit, lunch will take place on friday april 22 to Greenwich Hyatt. The opening reception will begin at 11:30 a.m., followed by lunch and the 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Virtual Attendance is also available for the live broadcast of the event.

Hill, a professor of law, public policy and women’s studies at Brandeis University, has dedicated her life’s work to advancing women’s rights and ending gender-based violence.

The recipient of a 2019 PEN Courage Award, Hill’s commentary has been featured by major media outlets, from The New York Times to Good Morning America.

His new book, Believe: our thirty-year journey to end gender-based violence, is a powerful call to arms from one of America’s most prominent and well-rounded survivors. His earlier autobiography, Speak truth to powershares her story of testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee about sexual harassment suffered during her career.

Now in its 24th year, the Community Foundation’s Fund for Women & Girls is New England’s largest women’s fund and has improved the lives of tens of thousands of women and girls in the region with more than 8 million grant dollars.

The well-attended annual luncheon attracts over 800 supporters each year and has featured prominent speakers such as Dr. Maya Angelou, Gloria Steinem, Billie Jean King and Tracee Ellis Ross. Serving as a flagship fundraiser to support the work of the Fund, the luncheon will also highlight the work of its newest flagship initiative, the emme coalition – an innovative program that puts women and girls in control of their lives as partners in their own care.
